PENSACOLA, FL – ITGulfCoast, an Information Technology Association for the Gulf Coast, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at PJC Downtown. Bridgette Price, Assistant Vice-President, Entrepreneurial Development for the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce will discuss the Downtown Technology Park and the Gulf Coast Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Presentation Abstract
The Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is taking the lead on technology-led economic development. This effort began in May 2007 through an initiative called iTen Wired with its regional economic development partners in Mobile, Baldwin, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties. The primary goal of iTen Wired is to remain competitive in the global economy by embracing the innovation of entrepreneurs across our region.
On a local level, this effort includes the development of the Downtown Technology Park and the Gulf Coast Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. These initiatives focus on innovation-based economic development principles which offer the ideal strategy for bringing new jobs, attracting & retaining talent and creating global investment for the Pensacola Bay Area.
Ms. Price will share key strategic elements for this approach to economic development as well as provide updates on these key initiatives.
Meeting Details
This meeting will be held at the PJC Downtown campus. The meeting starts at 11:30 am and ends at 1:00 pm. The cost for lunch is $12 per person. Cold box lunches will be provided. The fee to attend without lunch is $5 per person.
